Beyond the Classroom

Charlotte is a place for discovery. There’s something new and exciting at every twist and turn on this tour of city institutions, which includes Frankie’s Fun Park, the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Carowinds amusement park.

Morning

Tour Frankie's Fun Park

Frankie’s of Charlotte sits on 20 acres with 84,000 square feet of indoor entertainment space and boasts Charlotte’s largest arcade. In the laser tag arena, teams compete head-to-head in a postapocalyptic Charlotte. Outside features include 18-hole miniature golf courses, custom-designed go-kart tracks, and rides that hang visitors upside down 60 feet above the ground.

Afternoon

Lunch at the Pit Stop Cafe

Refill the tank at the Pit Stop Café, where lunch options span savory barbecue to tasty sandwiches, all while enjoying a view of the famous Glory Road exhibit.

Tour The NASCAR Hall of Fame
Inside the high-octane venue, programs are designed to engage students and take the classroom experience beyond the track.

Evening

Experience Carowinds Amusement Park

Wrap up the evening at Carowinds, where later hours mean the fun continues even after the sun sets. Student bands, choirs, teams and organizations have the opportunity to perform at unique onsite
venues at Carowinds. Be sure to save time to ride the world’s tallest giga coaster, the 325-foot tall Fury 325, and other thrilling coasters on Carowinds’ impressive roster.
